Nexiversity opened in 1998 with four faculties and a stubborn idea: that undergraduates should be trusted with real work from the first term. Six faculties later, that has not changed.

Engineering at Nexiversity is taught in studios rather than lecture halls. Students spend their first year in the fabrication lab, their second on a live client brief, and the remainder on research that leaves the campus.
The faculty maintains fourteen laboratories, including a robotics cell, a semiconductor clean room and a structures hall rated for full-scale load testing. Every senior project is defended before a panel that includes practising engineers from industry partners.
