The confident last year before big school.
Sunflowers Senior KG
A day in this group
Sunflowers is a bridge year. Children write for real reasons — labels for the class shop, invitations for the spring show — and read in pairs every morning. They also learn the unglamorous skills that make first grade easy: waiting, listening, asking for help, finishing something they started.
By May, most of our Sunflowers can carry a conversation in two languages and tell you exactly why worms matter.
What the week looks like
- Paired reading every morning
- Writing for real audiences and events
- School-readiness routines and self-care
- Transition visits to partner primary schools
