Kiddies is a bright, purpose-built nursery and kindergarten in Riverside where under-sixes learn through play, stories and a lot of paint.
Kiddies began in a converted corner house on Maple Walk with eleven children, two teachers and a garden that was mostly nettles. We had no marketing plan, only a conviction: that a nursery should feel like the calmest room in a child's week.
Today we hold ninety places across six rooms, still on the same street. Our longest-serving teacher has been here since the second week. Most of what we do has not changed — we simply have a bigger garden and better waterproofs.
Four children to one adult under three, six to one above.
Two hours in the garden every day the wind is under gale force.
One kitchen, one cook, a menu the children help write.
Average tenure is nine years. Your child keeps the same face.
