Kiddies is a bright, purpose-built nursery and kindergarten in Riverside where under-sixes learn through play, stories and a lot of paint.
Warm rooms, unhurried days and teachers who stay for years — Kiddies gives children under six the space to be curious, and gives parents the calm of knowing exactly how the day went.

We opened in 2009 with eleven children and one very good idea: that small people learn fastest when they feel safe, unhurried and genuinely known. Fifteen years later the idea has not changed — only the number of paint pots.

Mornings belong to the children — they choose the corner, we follow. Afternoons have a little more shape: a story, a song, a walk to the river and a quiet half hour before the first parent knocks.
Paint, dough and water — aprons on, rules off.
Two supervised outings a week, whatever the forecast.
Real instruments, terrible rhythm, enormous joy.
They plant it, they pick it, then they eat it at lunch.
Doors open 09:00 – 12:00, first Saturday of every month. Bring the children, bring the questions.
Our daughter went from clinging to the door to running through it. The settling-in plan was theirs, but the patience was all hers.
I get a photo diary at 4pm every day. Not a marketing photo — an actual, muddy, honest one.
