Kiddies is a bright, purpose-built nursery and kindergarten in Riverside where under-sixes learn through play, stories and a lot of paint.
The Creative Studio is the loudest room we have, and deliberately so. Three- and four-year-olds spend their mornings at four open stations — paint, clay, construction and a junk-modelling bench — and choose freely between them.
Nothing is put out to be finished. A cardboard city can stay half-built for a week if the children keep returning to it. What we assess is not the object but the sentence a child uses to explain it.
