Between 2022 and 2025, a European rail operator moved its entire seat-reservation platform off a mainframe that had been running since 1998. Not once did they take the booking system offline during business hours.
This session is the full account: the routing layer that let both systems answer the same request, the eleven weeks in 2024 when reconciliation drifted and nobody noticed, and the four things the team would do differently.
